Book review - REAL Marriage by Mark and Grace Driscoll

http://www.booksneeze.com/art/_140_245_Book.550.cover.jpgI have a review finally of this book by Mark Driscoll and his wife Grace Driscoll.  I have to say that I was waiting to read this book because as he was writing it he talked about the process on twitter, so when I had the chance to receive a free copy to review from Booksneeze, I jumped on it!
I have to also mention that I am a big fan of Pastor Mark.  I love the way he preaches and have always felt that he tells it like it is.
I thought this book was good, it had a lot of information and I have to agree that being friends with your spouse is very important.  I have to agree that men can know that a woman loves them, and be miserable, because he does not feel like she LIKES him.  I found the second part of the book that deals with sex and all the things you were afraid to ask a little much, and I did not come from a Christian or religious background!  But I do agree that it probably needs to be mentioned, I am sure that there are those who want to know and they deal with each of these things extremely sensitively.  I would have to say that all in all it was worth the read!

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze®.com <http://BookSneeze®.com> book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Review of Take Your Best Shot

I found the book “Take Your Best Shot” difficult to get into when I first received my free review copy from Thomas Nelson Book Review Bloggers network.

After my daughter received a copy of the Harris’ book “Do Hard Things”, my interest was revived and I found it to be an inspiring story of how exactly you can act on a vision that is bigger than yourself when God inspires it and you walk in obedience.

In today’s world, where sometimes inspiration to change the world is lost or misplaced, a book like this can light a fire in both youth and adults alike.

Review of 'Let Go' by Sheila Walsh

Let Go by Sheila Walsh

As a member of Thomas Neilson's book review bloggers - I had opportunity to review this book.
If you are now or ever have struggled to see God working for you in the midst of pain, trial and adversity from all around, you may get some help from this book. Let Go – live free from burdens all women face is a book that attempts to deal with how we relate to our past, and how we should relate to our past, while accepting that God is God of all. All of this so that our present life can be lived out to God’s purposes.
I enjoyed this book, although it moved slowly in some chapters to get to the point that it is not about what others have done or not done to us or for us, but instead that God is faithful above all else. . It is engaging, warm, full of biblical insight and personal experiences. A good mix of ideas – and anecdotal accounts of how those ideas may play out in real life. Worth the read!
